Kristin K. Mullins

Senior Associate

Kristin Mullins has been a core member of Nuzzo & Roberts’ Workers’ Compensation Group since 2012. Her practice allows her to zealously represent employers, insurance companies and third party administrators in all phases of the workers’ compensation claims process, including subrogation in civil court.

Prior to joining Nuzzo & Roberts, Kristin began her legal career as Staff Counsel for Liberty Mutual Insurance, handling both personal injury and workers’ compensation claims.

Thereafter, Kristin moved to a private law firm representing employers, insurance companies and third party administrators. While there, she authored an Appellate Court Brief for a matter that was eventually removed to the Connecticut Supreme Court as a case of first impression. Years of serving as a Case Note Editor for the Human Rights Law Review paid off, as the Supreme Court ruled in our favor, upholding the decision of the Trial Commissioner.

In 2007, a new adventure was pursued when Kristin began a five-year journey in the insurance industry as an Executive Underwriter at The Hartford. She was responsible for underwriting Errors and Omissions Coverage for some of the world’s largest law firms. Learning the “ins and outs” of legal malpractice policies, and underwriting law firms, allowed Kristin to gain a better understanding of the insurance industry as a whole. In addition, underwriting allowed Kristin to understand more clearly the inner workings of law firms and the “do’s and don’ts” of practicing law. This unique knowledge alone has made her a better, more competent attorney.

A chance meeting at a local library with a fellow Nuzzo & Roberts attorney, led to her acceptance of a position with the firm in October of 2012.

When she is not working, Kristin can be found spending time with her husband and two young sons, traveling between multiple sporting events for her sons, spending time with and walking her amazing 80-pound golden retriever, reading in preparation for her book club and gardening.
